Garmin Mobile is now monthly!

Ya heard right! Helio finally rolled out the $9.99 per month subscription to the marvelous Garmin Mobile. I used it on my super-serious-and-official Heliocity trip down to the living quarters of Greg, and I only got lost a few times. I swear! I am awful at directions, even when the Garmin lady (We will call her Mary) is yelling at me to get off at the intersection that was to my right.
All in all, Garmin Mobile is super-handy. If you don’t have enough gravy for a full blown GPS, it’s an awesome substitute. It features automatic route recalculations (Took a wrong turn? Mary will find another route!) quick restaurant/business finding, cheapest gas stations, closest ATM, traffic, weather, vocal turn-by-turn directions, and I’m sure you can blow up the world with it too.
So go rejoice with your mother, father, aunts and uncles, even your future children and space aliens! Download it from the Helio store, under the Apps section. Or dial 427646 and hit the Helio Flame key to jump right to it. Also, Mary loves you.
Thanks to nas061000 on the forums for telling us!

So wait. Does anyone know if this is included with “All-in” and also, looking at the “Get Garmin” it looks like there is only a “rent for 2.99″ option.

No, Garmin is a pay app. Google Maps is the free GPS, which is still pretty awesome, but is puny compared to Garmin. I will admit though, Google Maps is much prettier. Don’t go by what the website says, chances are, they haven’t updated it yet.

Just paid $350 for a Sanyo 4070 gps on Amazon… this pisses me off. Still Sprint re brands it and call its “Sprint Navigator” for free with Vision.

Vision is 20 bucks a month, though - otherwise Sprint’s application (Made by Telenav) is 2.99 per day.

MRDSM: It saves people the hassle of having multiple devices, it’s also handy cause it’s personal and hand-held, meaning if you are with friends, etc.

I’ll pass, Helio offers a crappy version of GPS, updating it every 1 Min. Many other providers offer a continuous GPS application.
I will not ever be one to pay for an app that is included in other providers services. Thanks Helio, OH How about some free games too ya jokesters!

Which providers offer continuous GPS for free?

You mean “Garmin Moibile is now affordable”?

Your right its Telenav rebranded…. but its the same thing exactly. Look at the guts of Garmin and Telenav the core of both is Navteq. So same thing different name. I just think that with an all in plan we are paying the extra bucks for data and that we should have REAL gps included. If your on foor or maybe bike Google GPS is ok but freeway travel your done for.
Sprint vision 20.00 (think it may be the 25 one for gps i dont remember sorry)
helio al-la carte vs all in 500 = 25.00
Not bashn Helio by any means I love them but just sayn it would be really nice of them since they are advertsing Oceans with full gps to include it an no one would care if they called it “helio gps” as a rip off of the other ones. All they would have to do is talk to Navteq directly.

ye,but with the recent price drop of all in/unlimited from $120 to $99,you can add on the garmin and still be coming out cheaper than what you would of just a few months ago! -0n3-

is there any way i can delete this piece of crap app from my Ocean? I hate how it says, “Sorry, Can’t Delete” when i try to get rid of it. it’s like it’s saying to me, “Sorry, now go fuck yourself.”

I’m not sure what app you are referring to, since Garmin Mobile definitely is not crap, but you can’t completely remove it from the menu. Vendors paid Helio to have their icons “stuck” in the menu, such as Obopay, Garmin etc… The best you can do is move them into a folder so you don’t see them.
