Helio File Viewer Spotted In Wild

After many decades of waiting (or months), the Helio File Viewer is finally out of the cage! And best of all… it’s free! Wee! (And only for the Ocean)
What is the Helio File Viewer you ask? It enables you to view Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), PDF, TXT, images (BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, WMF, EMF) and HTML.
There are a couple of ways to get this little app;
1. Navigate on the Helio browser to Store > Apps > Helio File Viewer
2. Dial 438 on your phone, go to JUMP, and you will be taken to the download page for it.
Pretty cool, huh? You can open files from e-mail storage, or from your microSD card. Everything appears to run very well, and the files that we have tested all rendered correctly.
Thanks to azjay4u from the forums for notifying us!
Enjoy!

I just tried it out on my Ocean and my friend’s Ocean, and it works… somewhat.
I had a low battery, so I don’t know if that had anything to do with this, but when I tried to browse my external micro SD card’s music folder… my phone locked up. I waited for about 15 minutes to make sure it wasn’t just thinking really really hard about something, and I eventually just took the battery out. When I put it back in, it seemed to be stuck in a boot loop. I thought maybe the battery was dead, so I put it on the charger for a little bit, but it was still boot looping even on the charger. Afterwards, I took the battery out, and just plugged the Ocean straight in to the wall charger. It said, “battery removed” and so I waited a little bit and put the battery back in. Then it boot-looped a couple of more times, and then it turned on like normal.
Does that sound weird, or what?!
Also, on my friend’s Ocean, it wouldn’t open an XLS (Excel) file unless he forwarded it to another email address (for example mine) and then I forwarded it back to him. Weird, huh?
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
Thanks in advance!

Worked good for me, no problems (yet?) not expecting any either. I didn’t have any xls file on my computer so I has a buddy send me 2 and they opened fine.
Keep the apps coming

Yeah, I downloaded the app. tonight and it works good. Yeah, looks like Helio is finally getting it’s shit together on the software reading side. This will help a lot, esp. for business users. Good work, esp. when free. Simple and easy.

Uh oh, now I’m back trying to decide if I want the HOT feature or the File Viewer.

I’ve tested the crap outta this file viewer before i posted. I can honestly say that it’s very good not as good as your palm phones which i can’t seem to get rid of but it works good enough to open files and such, but for business users this isn’t a all in one solution yet.

The Excel file viewer is either doesn’t exist or is very limited. It does not work for me.
