Private Helio Screening: Shoot ‘Em Up
Posted by Greg Kumparak on September 4th, 2007 at 05:12 PMHelioSKT of Helio HQ stopped in on the forums to mention this:
This is pretty cool: Helio members in Los Angeles and New York City can swing by either Helio Santa Monica or Helio New York to flash their devices and pick up free passes to exclusive screenings of Shoot ‘Em Up tomorrow evening.
The movie starts at 7PM on Wednesday, September 5th in both cities. Come to the movie and meet your fellow Helions!
Check out the video invitation here.
So - It’s that simple. If you’re a Helion, walk into the NY or Santa Monica shop, show’em your device, and walk out with free tickets to see Shoot ‘Em Up a few days early!

So I went to the movie in Santa Monica last night for the sneak screening…The theatre was about 2/3 full I’d say. People must have done their homework and stayed away. The movie was one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time. If it wasn’t free, I’d ask for my money back.

I thought it was awesome to get tickets just because I’m a member. Helio seems to do this alot around here in NY. Here in NY the theater was actually pretty full. I will add that that was one of the most enjoyable movies I have seen in a long time! I’d actually pay to see it again!

I was amused that the admission ticket had so many warnings about not bringing cameraphones to the screening, including advice to leave your phone in the car or at home. Since all Helio phones have cameras and since this was a Helio-sponsored event, it’s a bit ironic. I understand that the studios are paranoid, perhaps especially so at an advanced screening, but the people who are bootlegging screenings are not using cellphones to do it.
