Helio just sent over the details on a promo they’ve set up especially for Heliocity readers, and it’s a pretty friggin’ sweet deal. You get 2 free months for referrals, while your friends get 10 bucks a month off their bill for a year (includes $99 Unlimited) and (if they’re grabbin’ a Mysto or a Fin) a $50 dollar prepaid gift card.

hi, i checked out the restrictions for the referral of a new member and it said that the referrals needed to be in before 2/28/08, in which case its no longer valid right? how does that work? can someone fill me in on the details? thanks!

I saw this blog after i already referred a friend of mine on 3/29, and i asked her and even though she reads heliocity she didn’t have an account with heliocity prior to opening up her helio account. is that a lost cause?

Why dont they offer the existing members that made homebrew possible or those with homebrew sites that make helio more attractive some kinda monthly discount instead of saying “hey thanks for bringing us a $hit load of money thanks to your efforts so why dont you bring us even more money and will give you two months free…

those promo codes are faulty. i only got one activation today and i had to tell him that i lied about the $89 a month thing. that was an awkward situation

The promo codes appear fine. You have to look at the fine print on the order page. After you apply the code, it says in small print under the main table “Heliocity Exclusive, $10 plan discount for 12 months”.
Using the codes do change the phone prices though. You have to pay the full online new member price. I.e. for an Ocean the promo coded price is $199. W/o the promo code the Ocean is $174.
I agree that if they really wanted to be so nice to the community, they should let verfiable members (i.e. active forum participants) of the community apply the $10/mo credit to their own existing Helio account. It doesn’t really do anything for the community to give new sign-ups an extra $10 off and us the same old referral credits that we have to wait 3-4 months go see show up.

Hey, just remember that this is an ONLINE ONLY promotion. The sales channel just had some guy call upset that he couldn’t use these promo codes over the phone. Don’t get annoyed with us - we didn’t make the rules!
