wait wait wait. For the first few days my Ocean would only light up when I got a new gmail, which was great. But now it vibrates every time I get a gmail which is the most annoying thing in the world. I can't figure out for the life of me how to turn off the vibrate, but keep it lighting up. Any help? Also, why would it only start vibrating a few days after the service already started working?

This is all well and good except MY BATTERY DIES IN ONE DAY thanks to the constant sending and receiving. It's driving me nuts that the Ocean uses up so much power and dies so quickly. Sigh. I regret buying it.

It is weird that even though I have it set up to sound and vibrate when I get a new mail alert, it does not happen when I do actually get a new mail alert. The screen lights up but that is it.

Gmail is my more important email, but I use yahoo and myhelio for other things... I'm just glad gmail finally works with the popup feature... all my other homies have to constantly check theirs or it only updates every 15 minutes or so...

sidenote: I like how Helio's all-in plan is easy to understand and includes everything they have to offer... a big reason y I have Helio...

@HelioSKT: You're splitting hairs. Yes, Helio is the first "provider" to offer this, but they aren't the first organization to do so. No one buys a Blackberry to use solely as a phone (although, yes you can, just like you can also buy an Ocean without an All-In plan). If someone did do either of those things for whatever reason, they would still have access to the same kinds of data, just at a different rate. So tell me where the "extra" comes in. All-In or A La Carte, if you check the auto-update box, you still get the emails, only you pay differently. If you use it enough obviously it's just cheaper to buy the data plan for unlimited use. The same is true with a Blackberry. And I can't speak for AT&T, but T-Mobile does not require a data plan for using a Blackberry.

Maybe they're just overloaded and too bogged down to get the push messages out... regardless, I've received ONE push notify for at least 20 gmail emails. I thought the gmail notifier might be squashing them but it's still not working after I quit it on my PC.

It's not working very well for me either. When I first turned it on this afternoon, I received an email alert shortly after. But I haven't received any more since, and I've sent several test emails to my Gmail account.
