Virgin Mobile USA posts Q3 2008

Posted by Justin B. on November 10th, 2008 at 09:26 PM

Virgin Mobile USA let loose a gigantic press release earlier today announcing the results of Q3 2008. No new information revolving around Helio was included, only highlights from the past few months for both companies. If you are as bored as the kid in the picture and like financial garble, set aside a stormy afternoon and take a read. Overall, the outlook from VMUSA is optimistic as Helio is transitioning into it’s new home, the major downside is we have to play the waiting game before things start picking back up, which hopefully won’t be too much longer.

That kids face matches exactly how I have been feelin about helio over the past 7 months.

  2. DER3k_ Says:

i hope they can do somthing with that extra cash.. like release the oz2 or make some type worthy phone :/

  3. Marko343 Says:

I think I’m done with Helio, My dad asked if I wanted to just be on his VZW account, with the new Storm coming out in the next few weeks I don’t see any reason to stay with Helio. NO NEW PRODUCT INFO in like 7+ months(not counting FCC release info), is NOT a way to keep customer interested at all.

  4. M Says:

Helio is over. So is Heliocity.

  5. d shot Says:

seriously. this shit is gay. this is the type of news we’ve resorted to? i remember when we used to find out that opera mini was hacked. that was news. now we’re getting excited about a quarterly report being published? do we care about how much money richard branson is making? i don’t. what has come of our once beloved? we have all become traitors. if we can’t beat them, might as well join them. such is life. fuck it, holmes. lets drink

  6. flydingo Says:

    I’ll drink to that!

  7. g Says:

heliocity prints this kind of news…because that’s all they have!this ish is PATHETIC!helio been dead and so has this site!lmfa0o0o0@justin’s topic were he disabled cmts, and told people to go to the forums(because they were dead)!quit grasping at straws, being in denile and admit TO YOURSELF that helio is dead!you should shut down this site and quit leading NAIVE people on -sad times- the oz2 will NEVER drop, trust!the only reason i visit this site(once in a blue m0on,btw)is because helio screwed me w/ the ETF…and to warn people about helio!i know ive personally talked at least 6 people into droppin’ helio(sure, they screwed me on the ETF,but i got the last laugh) *pulls out my tony hawk sidekick lx,htc g1 w/ android AND htc wing winmo smartphone and laugh’s at the sucka’s who are still using an ocean* -peace-

  8. g Says:

…and how long has it been since helio released a phone?when did the mysto come out?december-january?so 10-11 months, lol, utterly fukcin’ PATHETIC! *shrugs*

  9. Joe Says:

Dude, Seriously. Helio. What the hell is wrong with yoouu???
It makes me so frustrated. What happened to the “Edgy, New cell phone” service you once were?! Ha!

  10. Nick Vidda Says:

This line is just funny right here…
“the major downside is we have to play the waiting game before things start picking back up, which hopefully won’t be too much longer.”

The Helio people (well basically the guys who run this site and that one Helio corporate guy who used to use this forum [SKHelio I think his name was]) have been telling the customers to “hang tight” and that “new things are coming very soon”. I just do not get why Justin continues to say these things. He’s been saying them for almost a year now and nothing new has come. I’m so sick of hearing “good things are coming” and “just be patient, new things are approaching”. I really wish I would’ve kept every comment I’ve read for the past year where Helio people would say “good things are coming”. Seriously, if I had a dollar for every one I’d be rich by now.

  11. azz one Says:

i still love you helio =)

    WOOO VIVA LA HELIO!

  12. kenneth Says:

hell, helio is pathetic now. i can’t wait to go back to alltel…and i NEVER imagined i’d say that but every other provider has touch screens now…helio? nada. htc touch…i can’t wait until you’re mine.

  13. azz one Says:

touch screens are fuckin lame as hell….

  14. Drew Says:

I don’t really blame Helio for not posting anything new. They were in talks for a long time about merging with VM which likely put everything on hold in the first place. Then the merger actually happened and further pushed back release dates, new phones, etc. And now we, the end consumer, are stuck until VM can figure out what they will do with the acquisition of Helio. Yea they keep saying “things are on the way” but honestly what else could they say? Not a whole lot.

  15. Bruceleeroy2003 Says:

Look here. This site is now bein paid for by Helio. They paid him to sell us out. Look at it he is not fight the same fight we are. He rarely updates and whe he does it’s this type of crap. Can you blaime him. He probably has free service now and a nice little check VIA HELIO!! The messed up thing is we always get screwed. They pay these CEO’s who take charge and mess things up. They need me!

  16. Justin B. Says:

We are not payed by Helio, and Helio does not own this site. Why do we rarely update? Uh, because there isn’t any news. Do you want me to just make stuff up or something? How about, “Helio releases OZ2 on Mars, tickets cost 2 million dollars”

  17. g Says:

you could’ve posted this…the fcc just approved the pantech duo 2 yesterday, and guess what?it looks a LOT like the fabeled oz2 helio’s been talking about for the past year, lol!except with window’s 6.1!hopefully it is’nt laggy like the 1st duo was.

  18. g Says:

i see nothing about a flash player on the duo 2 though.it took the g1 to bring that ‘dream’ to fruition…hopefully!

  19. Nick Vidda Says:

    To ‘g’…
So you mean you hope it’s not ‘laggy’ like the 1st Duo AND Ocean were?
Let’s not forget no matter how horrible the Duo was, the Ocean was full of bugs itself

  20. S.Smith Says:

The focus of this site right now *should* be figuring out more things we can do with the Ocean that we do have, trying to find new things to do with it and new apps and programs that we can get working on the device. As a novice in that area, I can’t offer much help, but people like Peetree01 and whoever else should be doin some more stuff… we haven’t even had new things as far as people trying to develop for the phone…which makes this wait that much more painful.

  21. Nick Vidda Says:

    To S.Smith:
I think it’s not so much that people need to figure out more things to do with the Ocean, but more so that the Ocean has been tapped with all it’s possibilities. Let’s face it, the Ocean was not as great as Helio wanted to make it out to be. That and the phone is a dinosaur now-a-days. There’s only so many things you can do to a cell phone before it’s just old. And, well, the Ocean is old!

  22. Nancy Says:

I cant figure out why helio still hasnt come up with a new device…ive had helio for a while, and i think im done…this is some BS, all this waiting is becoming a little too frustrating for me>:0/
