Third Generation Kindle Sales Are Strong

Amazon recently advised that sales for their new third generation kindle reader have been higher for the four weeks immediately following its release than for the corresponding period following the release of earlier Kindles. It’s a clear indication that the Kindle is still in high demand and has been largely unaffected by the release of the Apple iPad. Given that the e-book market seems to be entering a period when follow up e-book sales may well prove to be more important than hardware sales, Amazon must also be cheered to see that Kindle books are outselling iBooks by a factor of sixty to one.
